British Flowers Arranging 10am-3pm
Do you grow flowers in your garden for cutting? Are you a flower farmer (large or small scale)? Do you love using seasonal, locally sourced materials? Do you struggle with arranging the floppy, wiggly, fabulously quirky stems into anything resembling a ‘proper’ hand tied or floral arrangement?
I grow so much here at the school and also at home but nothing like the fabulous offerings of the flower farmers locally so we will be using their flowers for the course..I will also share the ‘Flower Farmer’ list of all the local farms..
You will learn how to select what to grow in order to fill your floral ‘larder’ with the correct functional forms eg focals, fillers, foliage etc in the correct proportions -I will explain everything that’s needed to create a balanced bouquet.
You will each create a hand tied bouquet and wrap it up beautifully.
After lunch we will focus on arranging in a container using chicken wire and water (no foam of any kind).
Both designs are yours to take home as is the container. Cake and coffee is provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
