This course has been updated and tweaked to cover the myriad of questions I get asked all the time-mostly-HOW do I deal with (unrealistic) budgets and HOW do I make a profit in my business and (while we are at it) what’s the difference between gross and net profit?!

This is what we will cover whilst drinking coffee and eating cake…

This will be a long day, please bring a packed lunch, notepad and lots of water! You can pay the fee in instalments if that’s easier-just message me.

  1. Understanding YOUR approach to running a business
  2. Understanding turnover, allowable expenses, book keeping , gross profit, net profit, tax, VAT etc
  3. How to allocate and save for different bills…from tax to teabags
  4. How will you pay yourself? Will this be a salary (Ltd) or personal allowance (sole trader)?
  5. Budgets and price lists- how to set them and how to create and stick to them
  6. Minimum spends
  7. How to ’employ’ freelancers
  8. How to communicate your value to customers
  9. Dealing with friends and family discounts
  10. How to buy for and create a fabulous design to any budget
  11. The grid -how to allocate stem counts to each design
  12. How to deal with substitutions, bad quality stock, last minute mind changes etc

 

Sometimes florists choose to do this course 1-1 as this allows us to really look deep into your personal set up- where it is good and where it could be improved. Together we would create a plan of action for you to implement over the coming few months. Price for this course 1-1 is £300.
