Botanically dyed silk ribbons are the go to accessory for all florists but they can cost SO much! Come and learn how to create your own with expert dyer Tara who runs her business from her Sussex studio, gathering plants and herbs from her surroundings to turn into magic dyes for her products.

In the morning you will learn all the main concepts in natural dyeing- fabric prep, mordanting etc. Tara will bring a selection of dye pots to play with and have a go and also look at post dye modifications. This is when you’ll dye your own ribbons…

In the afternoon Tara will teach bundle dyeing with fresh petals etc to create patterns- a great way of using flowers you have grown or have left over to create a new product.

There will be a good selection of different fabrics to play with- silks, bamboo, velvets etc. There will also be a full instruction leaflet to take home – as well as the ribbons of course!

All materials and refreshments are included. Please bring a packed lunch. NO experience needed.
