Flower Farms Visit and Lunch 5th July 2024 9.30am-5pm
A day to immerse yourself in the world of growing flowers professionally…see where and how these local growers produce bucket loads of cut flowers during the growing season.
The day starts at 9.30am when we will meet at Misty Acres Flowers to be shown round by Becky. This is a ‘domestic’ sized farm and Becky grows a wide selection of flowers on her beautiful plot…she will chat to us about setting up, growing and keeping going!
We will then move on to Foxlight Flower Farm for 11.30am to meet Lucy. Lucy will tell us her story and show us round. She also has the rather fabulous ‘Tina the Tea Hut’ where you will be able to buy tea and cakes (please bring cash).
We will then make our way to The Queen’s Head pub in Sedlescombe for 2pm where we will have lunch and a loo break. We always have an arrangement with the pubs for each person to pay just for what they eat/drink (so no horrible surprises).
We will then make our way to Thistle Cottage Flower Farm for 3.30pm where Tara will meet us and show us round. The day should finish by 5pm.
Becky, Lucy and Tara have agreed that you may buy flowers from them (subject to availability). If you’d like to cut then please bring a bucket and snippers.
You will need transport between each of the farms but they are all in roughly the same area.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
Sounds like a perfect day!
