Course Calendar
Flower Farm Visits and Lunch 31st July ’25 10.00am-4pm
A day to immerse yourself in the world of growing flowers professionally…see where and how these local growers produce bucket loads of cut flowers during the growing season. You will listen to a talk by each grower and be able to ask any questions you’d like.
There will be an opportunity to buy flowers if you’d like (or maybe even cut your own!). Please bring a bucket and snips.
This time we are focussed on the West Sussex area. We will meet at 10.00 -11.15am at Maplehurst Farm near Horsham for coffee and refreshments followed by a tour of the plot and Toni will chat to us about her story and her plants…
Next we will make our way to Sussex Farmhouse Flowers near Horsham for 11.45 -1pm to visit the lovely Victoria and her beautiful plot…refreshments and drinks will be available.
We will then make our way to The Black Horse in Findon ……..to have a pub lunch booked for 1.45pm. I have arranged that we all pay separately at the bar so no nasty sharing of bills!
After lunch we will drive to Chalk Farm Flowers in Findon for about 3-4pm. Here Dan and Molly will show us round and chat about their story…we will also have refreshments and a drink.
You will need transport between each of the farms but they are all in roughly the same area. Nearer the time I’ll message with specific addresses and directions if needed.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
Sounds like a perfect day! LOTS of flowers and LOTS of food!!
