Guest Tutor -Fabulous Floristry Photos…10am-4pm
Every day on every course there are questions about how to take good, useable photos with our smartphones…no fancy equipment, no extra expenditure just clear, stylish photos of our creations…this full day course will teach you how.
Perfect for all florists and anyone just wanting to take better images for themselves, social media, portfolios etc…no experience required- you just need your (bring your charger!) i phone or Android- any model.. see below for the workshop outline obviously there will be coffee, cake and lunch breaks!

– Basic Smartphone camera tricks and techniques
– Basics of Photographic Composition
– Composition and Lighting in Flower Photography
– Basic Smartphone Editing techniques
Objectives
At the end of the workshop you will be able to:
– demonstrate a critical understanding of the basic principles of Smartphone Photography.
– demonstrate a practical engagement with smartphone photography by taking your own photographs and applying all advice in practice in the context of flower photography
– demonstrate a practical engagement with smartphone photography editing techniques
– critically reflect on the making of your own images and discuss the making process
General Workshop Outline
10:00-11:10
Introductions
Theory session – explaining with visuals the basic principles of Smartphone Photography
11:20-12:30
Play Time – theory into practice- Part I
You will be taking photographs using your smartphone. You can work on specific themes I will be giving you or you can choose to shoot freely. I will be guiding you along the way and giving you individual attention and practical tips on how to achieve your desired results. Georgia will be on hand too for the floristry bits!
13:00 – 14:00
Play Time – theory into practice- Part II
14:00 – 14:45
Editing time
You will be editing some of the photographs you took during your practice. You will need to download the ‘Snapseed’ app before you come to the workshop. I will be demonstrating some basic editing techniques using Snapseed which you will apply in your photographs as a way to experiment and play.
14:45 – 15:45
We will be looking at each other’s photographs, commenting on them in a non-judgemental environment, suggesting new ideas, and reflecting on the making process.
15:45 – 16:00
Summing up on the workshop themes, leaving your workshop feedback, and suggesting ideas for further workshops based on your needs.

After the end of the workshop, I will be sending you e-handouts by email.
